Identified is a web site that adds rank to every job seeker. It does it by measuring 3 things. Your education, work experience and network. And it does it all from the data from Facebook. I went to test it today. I was interested to see what score will I get on their scale from 0 to 100. Well I got 3. To be honest I had a slightly better opinion of myself. Identified is kind enough to let us know why we got the score we did. Here is a nice explanation it showed me:
- So my Education is worth – 0
- My Work is as well worth – 0
- My Network is – 3 – well at least something!!!
To put it into perspective, I have spent many, many years in various colleges. Ended up with a Masters Degree. I am not really sure if Identified starts giving points for Education at a Ph.D. level, or was my university really so bad? (That could explain weird twists my career is taking continuously!)
I did spend my last 15 years working, and surprisingly enough Identified didn’t even give me a single point for years of management positions even in companies it most likely know about, take Microsoft for example. Well it is 2011, and I guess you have to work for Facebbok to get some points for your work experience in Identified’s scoring system.
Now my network is a bit surprising score of 3. Why? I actually connected it to my test account in Facebook, created about a month ago, with less than 100 contacts in it. And for that my friends, the scoring system of Identified gave me 3 points. The only 3 points I actually got! 🙂
Identified is a well funded company. This is only a BETA. I got 16, so it works. http://www.forbes.com/sites/tomiogeron/2011/09/19/identified-launches-its-people-ranking-professional-search-engine/
Ivan,
I believe your score is low because you live outside of the US (we have a US focus right now), where we don’t yet have a lot of data from which to score the universities and companies. The university/company score is based on hundreds of factors, but is largely dependent upon the scores of the people that went to school/worked there. So, as more people from your past universities/companies join the site, more data will become available, and we will be able to rank those institutions. As they get ranked, your score will increase. So invite your colleagues to join the site. Hope this helps!
PS Thank you both Ivan and Joel for the support!

Thanks Jennifer! I managed to get one of my employers recognised by Identified. It did not like me call them Microsoft (0 Identified points for that) but Microsoft Corporation (37 points for that). So I am 40-something now in Identified! 🙂
