Some of the jobs offered in Jobsbridge I would apply for but are now only available to unemployed or untrained people . What about us that are qualified and may be looking for a step up on the career ladder ? Is it a case of – you should be happy you have a job don’t think of promotion/ advancement ?
I had tried to use this programme to take on a number of apprentices whom I was prepared to offer full time (paid) positions to at the end of the period, The response was very poor, the few candidates applied and those who did eventually apply seemed as though they were only applying because they had to!
I think the negative publicity and the governments poor efforts at promoting it contributed to this being a failure. I have since hired a number of graduates instead.
